I Missed This!

It’s good to be back! This post is going to be very spontaneous so please forgive any grammatical mistakes and enjoy my flow-of-consciousness writing. It’s going to be fun!

After taking some time off to focus on family during the holidays, I then met one of the respiratory illnesses going around at the start of the new year, and I wound up taking more time off than I expected. That’s why I’m so glad to be sitting at my desk again with the ability to focus on what I want to write.

It feels like I finished last year with a fizzle instead of a bang, but oddly, I don’t feel like that was a bad thing. Instead, I see it as a natural progression. I no longer feel the need to finish big if I finish the way I want. I wanted to focus on family at the holidays, and that is exactly what I did. I have a blessed feeling of contentment and no regrets for finishing the year in the way I chose.

My creativity has still been on the upswing, and I’m snatching at ideas left and right which makes being at my desk even more wonderful. I’m still building out some new blogs and experimenting with YouTube, and I have long term plans on how I want to create content. This year just feels different for me with content creation, and it’s a good feeling. Part of it is self-confidence, and part of it is a realistic understanding of growth. Ironically, I’m looking forward to some long hours because it will be long hours working on what matters to me instead of what matters to another business or organization.

Even though the start of 2026 has been delayed for me a bit, I’m not upset or stressed about it. Somehow, I feel less stressed than I have with any other new year before, and I think it’s because it is up to me how far I go this year. It isn’t up to a supervisor, company, or board what I do with my content, and this is a feeling of freedom I am loving right now.

I look forward to sharing my reflections on 2025 and more details on my plans for 2026. I hope you give yourself permission to explore this year even if you’re working for someone else. I hope we all enjoy the journey!

Inspirational Verse for the Day:

“Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19, HCSB)
