Last week was a catch-up week for my writing and schedule. Things that fell by the way during recent activities were on my weekly goal list. Writing took precedence since my creative cylinders were firing. I wasn’t trying to conquer the world. I was just trying to get little things done.
At first, it can seem like we aren’t completing things when we need to slow down, but the reality is that it’s okay to make time to reset when we need it. By the end of the week, I had outlined a new blog and worked on my business plan in my head. It turns out that slowing down actually helped me make forward progress. I didn’t get everything done, but I got more done than I ever expected.

More importantly, I reset my mind. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I organized my thoughts and plans concerning a new project and an ongoing project. I came away from my reset week understanding that I may have to work through the anxiety to overcome it. I started this week with my mind and plans more solidified.
It’s important to slow down on occasion to see what small goals or tasks weren’t completed, and then we need to make time to get them done. That’s how a reset is useful. Resets take us out of the big picture and help us focus on the individual steps that make the big picture possible. Be sure to make time for resets especially when the big picture starts to feel overwhelming.
