The last twelve months have been one baby step after another in learning from other bloggers and content creators while also learning from my own experiences. Last year, I started making a list of points that have helped me push forward. I keep it saved on my phone because I keep adding to it, and it inspires me when I get discouraged. It’s evidence of how far my thought process has come.
This list is growing and evolving whether it’s my own realization or a tip that I get from someone else. I expect that the list will continue to change as I continue to learn, and that’s just not something I can keep to myself.
Keys to Success I’ve Learned So Far
- Consistency
- Quality
- Use what you have
- Learn and do at the same time
- Be realistic and honest with yourself
- Work ahead and behind the scenes
- Prayer
- Pretend I’m working for someone else
- Marketing
- Age is just a number otherwise you hold yourself back
- Don’t overthink what doesn’t need to be over-planned
- Controlled growth so you don’t get overwhelmed
- Create a business plan for yourself
- Just get started
- Trust God to lead
- Be willing to change what isn’t working
- Know when to say no – especially when scheduling (added 2/7/25)
- Know your niche (added 2/10/25)
- The 15-5 Rule for Rough Days (added 4/1/25)
None of these are listed in a particular order. Instead, they are listed in the order that I learned them or realized their value. Being a woman of faith, I included points of faith because they matter significantly to my process. For the next several weeks, I’m going to break down each point and share what I’ve learned and why it matters.

Inspirational Verse for the Day:
A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, to understand a proverb and an enigma, the words of the wise and their riddles. (Proverbs 1:5-6, NKJV)
