One thing is for sure. I wouldn’t have taken off on this freelancing journey without a whole lot of prayer. As I’ve been writing about all the things that I am learning, I realized that none of this would have happened without my faith. I pray, and then I make decisions. It has been very important to keep God front and center during this journey because, as a Christian, I want my faith to shine through in my work and how I work with others.
Am I a perfect Christian? Absolutely not! Is it important to me that I reflect the light of God to others? Yes! Some days I’m better at it than other days.
As I recently contemplated how to improve my blogs and how to create other new content, I realized that God would expect me to share my faith perspective about the freelancing process. Trust me when I say that faith has gotten me to this point, especially those “hanging on by a thread” days.
I’m learning to pray before I sit down to write. It isn’t a habit that I’ve always had, but just like reading my Bible each morning, it’s a habit I want to cultivate so it becomes second nature to me. When I sit down to write, I want to remember to pray first. It doesn’t have to be a long, wordy prayer. It can be as simple as, “Lord, help me.” He knows what I mean.
Not everything I write is about my faith, but as a Christian, I believe God is in everything I do. My new goal is to add a Friday post about how my faith influences my new career and this blog. If that isn’t for you, then this is your heads up about Friday posts, but if faith is a part of your life as well, I hope the Friday posts encourage you. I look forward to sharing my faith and work experiences, and I hope that you will share your experiences as well.

Inspirational Verses for the Day:
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. […] And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:17 & 23-24, NKJV)
