If we kept count, I wonder how many times we are refined over the course of a lifetime? How many times do we make decisions that determine how we feel about an idea, a food, an activity, and so on? We keep pairing options down until we become a more refined individual in our choices. We see an entire buffet of food, and we know exactly what we want to enjoy. We have a list of activities to choose from, and we know exactly what we don’t want to do. It comes down to our experiences and what we value most.
I’m getting ready to embark on a new path—yes, again—and, I had a decision to make about my blog. I could keep writing on one blog about all the different topics that interest me, or I could begin another blog or other blogs. On one hand, it is so easy to have everything in one place. On the other hand, I can see how some people would feel like they get whiplash every time I write a post because they don’t know what the next topic will be. So after some thought, I have decided to start focusing this blog on my original subject which was my career journey.
After a couple of decades in the same career field, I’m tripping through the process of career transition, and so far, it’s involved some stubbed toes, bruised shins, and scraped knees. If you are having or have had the same experience, then please feel welcome here, and I would love to hear your stories.
You will find all kinds of blog posts from the past, and at present, I don’t intend to remove them because other people have found them here. I will even be sharing some of them on my new blog, and eventually, I might create more subject-specific blogs. It will be a process, but I know it will be worth it as I work to refine my topics. (UPDATE: Shocker! I changed my mind again. I will be keeping only career-related posts on here, and I will eventually migrate all the other posts to other blogs. It’s been a difficult decision, but I really do want to inspire other people going through a career change.)
On that note, my new blog is geared toward my Bible-based content, and it can be found at Endurance for Every Day here on WordPress. Starting next week, I hope to post regularly on each of my blogs because I’ve recently learned so much that I want to write about on my career transition. Hey, even job failures can be a valuable source of information. I hope to see you there, but if it isn’t your thing, then I hope you’ll keep reading here as I stumble my way through this career adventure and share my experiences with you.
